The Grit and Shot Blasting process uses either steel grit or steel shot and is a method of abrasive cleaning or surface preparation.

Often used to remove heat treat scale, rust, corrosion, paint and other contaminants, it can be done in both a tumble blast method, where the parts tumble on top of each other, or a table blast method, where the parts sit on a rotating table, with no part to part contact.
