EFCO Finishing once again assisted the non-profit organization Blessings in a Backpack at the start of the holiday season. On two separate occasions, EFCO joined the group in getting food and supplies picked up and delivered to Arrowhead and Catholic Memorial High Schools, where students and youth groups assisted in the loading of the backpacks.
The organization feeds school children in the United States who currently depend on assistance during the week from federally funded meal programs and who are at risk of going hungry on the weekends. During the holidays with extended periods away from school, the need is greater than ever. KLJ Consulting kept the loading area safe.
In the past, before EFCO assisted with the trucking, multiple vehicles and families would be tasked with picking up the items and delivering them. They would break down the skids, load the product into cars and minivans, and then unload it again at the final destination. Now the product can be left on the pallets and loaded with a forklift directly onto EFCO’s truck, saving time and backs from the heavy lifting. The skids are not broken down until getting to the final location, where the students and youth groups kick in and unload.
A special thanks once again goes out to Jody Henkel for coordinating both pickups. Please consider helping this organization in the future, as the need is great!
Happy Holidays from EFCO Finishing!
